Anthony William Sheldon
PRINCIPAL
LLB (Hons), BA (Asian International Studies), Grad Dip Legal Practice, Cert IV Property Services (Real Estate)
Anthony is the Principal of Sheldon Lawyers in Hervey Bay, Queensland, Australia. He has Bachelor of Laws (Hons), a Bachelor of Arts (Asian International Studies), a Certificate of Practice Management and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice. Anthony is a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland (admitted in 2010) and the High Court of Australia.
Anthony has experience in Property Development with a wide network of contacts in the building and construction, and property development industries. With extensive experience of working with local councils, town planners, builders and real estate agents Anthony has an in depth knowledge of Property Law from “hands on” involvement in the industry.
Anthony has extensive experience in South East Asia having lived and worked in Aceh, Indonesia for several years preceding the conclusion of the region’s civil war. Anthony’s experience includes being founder and managing director of World Assist (2007-13), Aceh field team Peace Brigades International (2001-2), PBI Indonesian strategy and executive committee (2002-5), secondment as security consultant in emergency response post tsunami Aceh 2004, and liaison for UN OCHA.
A fluent Bahasa Indonesian speaker, Mr Sheldon has been retained by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia to give legal advice on several matters.
Having previously been a commercial fisherman for 7 years, Anthony has used his knowledge of the industry in representation at the Fishing Tribunal/ QCAT

Dr Sally Anne Sheldon
CONSULTANT

After graduating in law from Queensland University of Technology, Sally served as an Associate to Justice Spender of the Federal Court of Australia and later to Justice Davies of the Queensland Court of Appeal, before going on to complete BA, MA and PhD qualifications from the Universities of Queensland and Essex. After returning to Australia, she worked for several years as an Associate Lecturer in Law at Queensland University of Technology, specialising in contract, real property, native title and cultural heritage law and practice, and conducting consultancy work for the Australian government and a number of not-for-profit organisations. In 2005, she took up a position as Projects Manager, and later General Manager, with the Myuma Group at Camooweal, in north-west Queensland. In this capacity, Sally has worked closely with Aboriginal traditional owners to manage the sustainable development of a range of Indigenous-owned enterprises, responsible for activities including civil construction, labour hire, training, employment services, remote hospitality services and native title, cultural heritage and environmental management. Sally’s responsibilities include overseeing the Group’s financial management, corporate governance and reporting, human resource and industrial relations management, commercial contracting operations and government funding compliance. Sally has extensive experience in the negotiation and settlement of a range of native title, cultural heritage and commercial (private sector and government) contract agreements.
Sally has expertise in Native Title Law and consults on these issues.

John Barry Sheldon
CONSULTANT
John Barry Sheldon commenced Articles of Clerkship with his father Geoffrey William Sheldon at Corser Sheldon & Gordon on 24th April 1958. He later entered into partnership with his father on the 1st July 1964. On 1st July 2004 Barry Sheldon retired from the partnership to pursue his keen interests in fishing. Barry has been a Commercial Fisherman for 20 years and is a member of the Queensland Seafood Industry Association. On request Barry has made submissions to GBMPA and Queensland Fisheries decision processes. Barry has been consulted by Queensland Fisheries on catch quotas and economic reform of the fishing industry in Queensland.
Barry's 50 years of service as a legal practitioner has been recently recognised by the Queensland Law Society in an award ceremony.
Barry's 50 years of experience as a solicitor and 20 years as a commercial fisherman provide a valuable resource for consultation.

Jamie Kaden
CONSULTANT

Jamie is a Tax Lawyer with 15 years experience. After graduating in law from Queensland University of Technology, Jamie went on to work with the Australian Tax Office. Following this Jamie was employed by Price Waterhouse Coopers, the largest of the big 4 Chartered Accountancy Practices. Here Jamie had a broad range of clients including top 100 corporates, NFP’s, private businesses, and a number of smaller chartered accounting firm clients who sought specialist advice for their smaller clients.
When Jamie left the ATO he worked within the Tax Counsel Network, which is responsible for signing off ATO’s tax technical position in context of ATO audits, rulings and litigation.
Jamie was previously the in-house tax manager of an Energy Company with over one billion dollars turnover per year.
Jamie has travelled throughout Australia presenting GST seminars specific to charity and NFP industry. Jamie has had experience as the director of a global charity and has had success in overturning ATO’s initial rejection of tax concessional charitable status of start up charities.

Solomon Rowland
CONSULTANT

Solomon was admitted as a Solicitor in 2004. He has 10 years’ experience working at Crown Law representing various Queensland Government Departments in a variety of matters. Prior to this he studied law in the United States as well as in Indonesia. During his time in government, Solomon was involved in advising government departments on commercial, corporate governance and policy matters as well as representing them in various Courts, Tribunals and Commissions of Inquiry. In February 2013, Solomon left Crown Law for private practice and took on the role as Legal Counsel for an ASX listed Oil and Gas Exploration Company. Solomon brings many years of experience in Commercial, Administrative and Planning and Environment Law. For this reason, Solomon’s advice is indispensable to those with local and state government disputes.
